Jessica A. Seares
Jessica A. Seares, J.D., Ph.D., is a Partner at Nall and Miller. Jessica brings her expertise in law practice to healthcare litigation, transportation defense, construction, and issues of general liability. Jessica has handled environmental, criminal, and toxic tort matters, and in addition to her law degree has a doctoral degree from the University of Georgia and a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Rutgers University. Prior to coming to Nall and Miller, Jessica worked on important environmental cases affecting the Southeast and provided zealous advocacy for indigent defendants at Fulton County, the largest public defender’s office in Georgia, winning major victories for her clients at the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Georgia. She has successfully argued cases at the state, federal and appellate levels.
Ms. Seares graduated from Emory Law with highest honors and as a member of the Order of the Coif, earning the Pro Bono Award and the Judge Rowland T. Barnes Scholarship. After law school, Ms. Seares clerked for the Honorable Judge M. Yvette Miller at the Georgia Court of Appeals. Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Seares was on the faculty at Boston University’s International Honors Program and Emory University’s Department of Environmental Studies and was published in peer-reviewed academic journals and textbooks. Ms. Seares is passionate about law practice, education and service.
Jessica’s published appellate cases include State v. Beard, 308 Ga. 160 (2018), McGlover v. State, 347 Ga. App. 542 (2018), Tezeno v. State, 343 Ga. App. 623 (2017), and State v. Ogunsuyi, 301 Ga. 281 (2016). The Beard case, in which Ms. Seares successfully argued for the grant of a new trial, resulted in a non-guilty on all counts jury trial for Ms. Seares’ client.
