Mike Hostetter utilized innovative testimony from a medical bill auditor to obtain a favorable settlement for a large, national trucking client. The case involved a clear liability accident in which the plaintiff claimed a torn rotator cuff. Medical expenses exceeded $200,000, three-quarters of which represented the rotator cuff surgical costs. Using a billing auditor to establish the “reasonable” cost for this surgery was one-third the amount billed, Hostetter was able to settle the case for $305,000.
