 Laura Eschleman and Bob Goldstucker continued to lecture to physicians on risk management issues in 2020, despite the inability to lecture in person due to COVID-19. They lectured to multiple physicians on risk reduction strategies at a national medical malpractice insurer’s educational webinar in July 2020, the National Medical Association’s Virtual Annual Convention & Scientific Assembly in August 2020, and a state medical association’s virtual conference in October 2020. Topics included the importance of documentation and how to avoid EMR surprises, informed consent, and proper protocol in patient discharge and termination of the physician-patient relationship.
