Laura Eschleman and Henry Williams led Theater of the Courtroom: The Art of Storytelling workshop at DRI’s Annual Meeting in Boston on October 15, 2021.

Laura Eschleman and Henry Williams, a former judge and long-time medical malpractice defense attorney, combined talents to present the Theatre of Courtroom workshop on October 15, 2021 at DRI’s Annual Meeting in Boston, Massachusetts.  They offered other DRI members their most effective trial tactics and unpacked their favorite tools for establishing and maintaining a connection with the jury from voir dire to closing statement.  The workshop focused on disrupting the monotony of scientific and technical evidence and encouraged attendees to be storytellers instead of fact reciters when confronted with what many are calling “New Reptile” from the plaintiffs’ bar.  Attendees were encouraged to leave their scripts of legalese at home and stand before juries as humans being human.
